A new bar with a 12ft wall mounted electric guitar on the wall is enjoying bringing great live music nights to Southport.
Royales is situated at 13 Lord Street, next door to Boulevard West.
After months in lockdown and then more months of severe Covid restrictions in place as bars eventually reopened, people have missed seeing singers and bands on nights out.
Royales has been busy making up for that, with acclaimed local acts appearing including: Jenny Wren, Kelly Bond, Dickie McStein, Paper Heart, Astrid, Chris Hesketh, David Walker, Mike Rimmer, Jamie Wooding, Babs from Fag Ash Lil and others.
The live music venue is owned by RK bars Ltd and employs six people.
Royales opened following the refurbishment of what used to be a swimming pool shop.

The bar features an impressive 12 foot wall mounted electric guitar, ceiling lights and modern yet comfortable seating. There is a parasol pavement terrace outside.
The owners have ensured that original and decorative features such as the tiled floor highlights have remained and have been restored.
They said: “‘We envisaged an exciting new venue in this part of town that would cater for local people in the area, tourists and musicians.
“Our attraction is our excellent freshly made cocktails, superb décor and atmosphere with great live music.”
The venue serves a range of cocktails, lager, IPA, premium wines and fizz, speciality coffee and Mediterranean platters.

Royales holds Acoustic Nights on Tuesdays, giving a stage to many local professional and up and coming musicians from guitarists to saxophonists, singer songwriters and ukulele players – hosted by local talent. If you would like to take part, please message Royales’ Facebook page directly.
On Saturday nights visitors can enjoy live music nights.
Royales is open 4pm to 12pm on Tuesdays, Midday to 12pm on Thursday to Saturday and Midday to 10.30pm on Sundays. To book a table call 07730786226.
