Southport Arts Festival offers packed weekend with music on the Bandstand, magic, Disney event and Open Night

This weekend sees the final acts to enjoy in this year’s nine-day Southport Arts Festival. 

It includes 12 acts on the Bandstand on Lord Street between midday and 5pm, ncluding the winner of the Band section of Young Musicians last night, Duplicity.

Venues hosting events include the Bandstand, Southport Market, and Cooppers Bar. 

This brand-new, community-led festival has been taking place from Saturday 2nd August to Sunday 10th August 2025.

The festival is led by Tony Wynne, Suzy Walker and Andrew Portersmith MBE, who have worked tirelessly to put together a diverse and inclusive event. 

There is also a ‘Gallery Trail’ celebrating the outstanding and diverse visual arts that are in the town.

Saturday, 9th August 2025 

12 – 5pm: Southport Community Bandstand, Southport Arts Initiative opens up the Lord Street Bandstand to community performers. The Bandstand, Lord Street. 

Acts include: 

1.40pm – Ukulele Buddies. Expect big singalongs of songs you know and love with a ukulele twist. 

3pm – Hollywood Magic with Frank and Betty. Join Betty Fontaine — the glamorous songbird — and Frank Brando — the debonair host — as they perform a selection of classic tunes and share a little taste of what’s to come at the One Night in Old Hollywood event at Southport Flower Show on Saturday, 16th August.

11:30am & 2:30pm Barrington Magic – Conjuring up a feast of family fun. Southport Market, King Street.

11:30 – 1pm: Sunday with Disney, perfect family entertainment. Southport Market, King Street.

6.30pm: Coopers Open Night, giving the opportunity for new performers to showcase their talents. Coopers Bar, Leicester Street.
