A new play café has opened its doors in Southport.
Located in the heart of Ainsdale Village, Sophie’s Play Café is a beautifully curated, Montessori-inspired play space created with both children and parents in mind.
The enchanting new addition to the village is based on on Liverpool Road.

It is open Monday to Friday from 9.30am–2pm and Saturdays from 10am–2.30pm. The café is closed on Sundays for private parties, offering the perfect venue for celebrations.
Founded by local mum and former art teacher Sophie Gallagher, the café blends imaginative play with a warm, welcoming café atmosphere.
Sophie Gallagher said: “As a mum of two little ones under five, I created Sophie’s Play Café because I know how much parents need a space that feels just as welcoming for them as it does for their children.

“I wanted to build a clean, calm environment filled with high-quality, open-ended toys that spark imagination and pair that with great coffee, tasty food, and a sense of community.
“It’s more than play – it’s a place for families to feel seen, supported, and to fill their own cup too.”

Families can enjoy hot and cold drinks, breakfast and lunch options like toasties and pancakes, plus freshly baked cakes – all while little ones explore a safe, engaging play environment.
