Just four months ago, on 3rd January 2025, Kelly Barker opened the doors to her brand-new Slimming World group in Ainsdale in Southport.
And what an incredible journey it has been since then!
In just 12 weeks, her members collectively lost a staggering 887 lbs – that’s 63 stone 5 lbs! Alongside the weight loss, there were 62 half-stone awards, 29 one-stone awards, 10 one-and-a-half stone awards, 3 two-stone awards, a two-and-a-half stone award, 11 Club 10 achievements (for losing 10% of starting weight), and 2 personal target awards.
These aren’t just numbers – they represent real people, real lives, and real transformations. And at the heart of it all is Kelly, who knows first-hand how life-changing this journey can be.
A Story of Inspiration
Kelly’s weight-loss story is nothing short of extraordinary. Just a few years ago, she found herself at a crossroads, weighing over 28 stone and facing a terrifying decision: accept bariatric surgery or risk her health deteriorating even further. The thought of leaving her son without a mother was a wake-up call, and it was then that she discovered Slimming World.
What started as a last-chance effort turned into the biggest transformation of her life. Kelly lost 18 stone and went on to be crowned Slimming World’s National Woman of the Year 2023. Now, she’s paying that experience forward, offering the same support and guidance that helped her reclaim her life.
