Schools are brilliant at getting involved in local issues. But which ones have gone further to really improve the world around them? We’d love to honour those that have.

This category is being sponsored by Southport College

The award isn’t just about academic performance, but about the role our schools play in the local community, supporting the borough’s young people and families.

The college looks forward to recognising the hard work and dedication of Sefton’s educators at this prestigious event.

Southport Education Group Principal, Michelle Brabner said:

“At Southport Education Group we firmly believe that the impact of a strong and positive educational experience stays with a young person for many years to come and helps shape their future.

“With this in mind, we are delighted to sponsor the School of the Year Award for the 3rd year running.

“It is our honour to celebrate the hard work, passion and commitment of the schools in our community, as they continue to support and inspire their children and families.  Thank you for the opportunity.”

People and groups who go above and beyond to make Sefton a special place for all will be presented with their trophies and given thanks in the Princess Grace Suite at The Grand on Lord Street in Southport town centre on Friday, 25th April 2025.

The unmissable night in the Merseyside events calendar will be presented by actress and radio personality Claire Simmo, and supported by Media Partner In Demand Radio

All those on the shortlist will be invited to a special celebratory meal in beautiful surroundings while the awards are presented, with a night of entertainment planned.

The first ever Pride Of Sefton Awards are being organised by Mikhail Hotel and Leisure Group and Stand Up For Southport

Nominations are still being invited across all 13 categories ahead of the closing date on 1st March 2025.

We are looking for nominations, across Southport, Formby, Crosby, Bootle, Maghull and elsewhere in the borough of Sefton.
