Southport & Birkdale Sports Club is preparing to welcome the return of First Class county cricket to Trafalgar Road as Lancashire take on Worcestershire from this Friday (15 May 2026) to Monday (18th May 2026).
With just one week to go, excitement is building ahead of four days of top-class red ball cricket at one of the country’s most picturesque outgrounds. Lancashire will arrive led by England legend Sir James Anderson, adding further prestige to a fixture that promises to attract cricket supporters from across the region.
The match marks another major occasion for Southport and Birkdale Sports Club, continuing the Club’s proud tradition of hosting elite county cricket at Trafalgar Road.
Supporters can expect an outstanding matchday atmosphere, excellent food and drink offerings, and the opportunity to watch some of the country’s leading red ball cricketers in action.

Alternatively, supporters can enjoy the fixture as members of Southport & Birkdale Sports Club. House and Sporting membership categories include complimentary access to the match, together with entry to the Club’s popular Member’s Lounge throughout the fixture.
Becoming a member also provides the opportunity to enjoy a wide range of sporting and social events at the Club throughout the year.
Demand for hospitality has been exceptionally strong.
Friday hospitality has now sold out, with only one table remaining for Saturday and limited availability remaining for Sunday.
Guests attending hospitality can enjoy premium viewing, dining, and a memorable day at one of the summer’s standout sporting events.
