The RSPCA Southport Ormskirk & District Branch says its cattery is currently “bursting” with friendly felines looking for new homes.

An RSPCA spokesperson said: “Our cattery is currently bursting with lots of lovely feline friends all looking for homes to call their own. Firstly, we have the very sweet Gwen, who is two years old and now ready to find the perfect family. Gwen is a timid girl who can easily be spooked, she is in need of a family who will allow her time to settle and adjust to her new life. Once she gets to know you, she really enjoys the company and fuss.

“Gwen is suitable to live with another calm friendly cat, and older teenagers 16+. Gwen isn’t suitable to live with any dogs.

“Next we have our Brandy who is a very timid boy who spends his days in bed snuggled under his blankets. The only time we manage to get him up is with a tasty treat. He especially likes lick-e-lix. Head on over to our Facebook page to see him enjoying his favourite snack. We feel it would benefit Brandy if his new owners could provide him with his own room to begin with so he can have his own safe space while he grows in confidence with his new owners. This is to ensure he doesn’t feel too overwhelmed when he first leaves the cattery.

“Brandy is in need of a pet free home with adults only.

“Another handsome boy on the block is Tango. He is two years old and is another shy boy who will need lots of time, patience and tlc. Tango is often seen sunbathing in his outside pod watching the world go by. He is also seen playing with toys a lot entertaining himself, which is lovely to watch.

“We feel Tango would be best in a home as the only pet and with sensible children aged 14+, a calm quiet home is a must and we think a space for him to settle into and grow in confidence would help him.

“For anyone looking for a female cat we also have the beautiful lola. She is a very sweet, shy-natured girl who loves attention. lola is in need of a calm quiet home to settle into. lola loves to sunbathe in the warm weather so we feel she will enjoy a nice garden to relax in.

“She needs a pet-free home but is suitable to live with older children 10+.

“If you don’t feel any of these cats are right for you but are still looking for a new feline friend then please view our website: www.rspcasouthport.org to see the other cats currently available.

“To apply for any cat, we ask that you send in a Perfect Match form, this can also be found on the website. If you have any questions about our animals or would like to purchase some raffle tickets, please call us on 01704 567624 between 11am-4pm every day with the exception of Wednesdays.”
