Rare cars from Porsche, Ferrari, Lamborghini and Aston Martin will be on display at the sixth annual Supercar Showtime event, raising much-needed funds for Derian House children’s hospice

Rare cars from Porsche, Ferrari, Lamborghini and Aston Martin will be on display at the sixth annual Supercar Showtime event, raising much-needed funds for Chorley-based children’s hospice, Derian House.

This year, the supercar spectacle includes over 150 supercars including the classics of yesteryear through to modern day hypercars, with rare and unique models from the world’s best prestige manufacturers.

All profits from the event go to Derian House, the Chorley charity that cares for over 400 babies, children and young people across the North West.

Supercar Showtime has so far raised over £170,000 for Derian House since it began, as well as £40,000 for the Hoghton Tower Preservation Trust.

The family-friendly event will take place on Sunday, 2 June from 10am until 3pm at Hoghton Tower.

Attractions on the day include live music and guided house tours, a food village, tearoom and pop-up shop from Chorley boutique Chic Happens. Café Le Mans, the hospitality area, will also feature a speaker, DJ and charity auction with motoring experiences and merchandise, holiday breaks, car detailing packages, artwork and more up for grabs.

Supercar Showtime is expected to be a sell-out once again so visitors are encouraged to buy tickets before they sell out.

The event is organised by husband and wife team Nick and Karen Isherwood, who live in Chorley with their two children. Nick and Karen are both unpaid volunteers and manage the commitment around their day jobs.

Nick Isherwood said:

“Supercar Showtime was first held in a pub car park in 2017. I had enjoyed the occasional supercar meeting with friends, but knew collectively we could do more to showcase amazing cars that often stay hidden away from the public eye, whilst at the same time creating an opportunity for owners to raise money for charity. We were amazed by the turnout to our first event and the funds raised. It was so well received we decided to move to a bigger venue and from there it has gone from strength to strength.

“In choosing a suitable charity we wanted to support one playing a pivotal role in our local community and knowing about the incredible environment that Derian House creates for children and young adults with rare and complex needs, they seemed a perfect fit. You just never know what’s going to happen to you in life, and Derian House are there for families in their hour of need.”

Karen Isherwood added: “We’re so fortunate to be supported by local and national businesses to help make this event possible and would like to thank Hoghton Tower for helping us to host our events, along with all of our volunteers, without whom the event would not be possible. It’s a great family day out, and an opportunity to make a positive difference to local families who need support from Derian House.”

Mick Croskery, Head of Income Generation at Derian House, said: “There’s just one month to go before the return of Supercar Showtime to Hoghton Tower, and we’re so excited. There is a huge team behind the scenes delivering this event to support our children and families – including Derian House Community Ambassadors Nick and Karen Isherwood.

“Through their incredible work over the previous five events, they have raised over £170,000 for Derian House and I’m sure I can speak on behalf of all of our children and families when I pass on their gratitude. We are really looking forward to working alongside the Supercar Showtime team this year to deliver yet another amazing event for the community as well as raising much needed funds for the hospice.”
