Make A Will Month

This April, in exchange for a donation to Queenscourt Hospice, Queenscourt are able to offer you the opportunity to book an appointment to have a Will professionally written with a participating local solicitor free of charge.

Making a Will doesn’t have to be daunting! The solicitor will use their expertise to guide you through the process, providing you with peace of mind that your wishes are noted and your loved ones are taken care of.

The suggested donations are:

  • Single Will – suggested donation of £100
  • Joint Will – suggested donation of £150
  • Amendments to an existing Will – suggested donation of £50

The process is simple! Queenscourt’s easy-to-use webpage is now live for you to make your donation www.queenscourt.org.uk/makeawill. Once you have made your donation you can choose any Solicitor from the list of participating solicitors on our website and call them directly to make an appointment for April.

Andrea Parkes, Individual Giving & Legacy Fundraiser at Queenscourt said:

“Making a Will, at whatever stage of your life is important as it provides you with peace of mind that your loved ones will be taken care of and that your wishes have been noted. Whether you have just bought your first home, started your own family, or your life circumstance have changed, it is always a good idea to Make a Will.

“The Queenscourt Make a Will Month is a fantastic way to have a Will professional written by a local Solicitor, whilst also supporting your local hospice at the same time. I would like to say a big thank you to all our participating Solicitors that have chosen to support us, we are delighted to have them on board.”

After you have looked after your nearest and dearest in your Will, a gift to Queenscourt could help the charity continue to provide support to local people when they need our compassionate care the most.

Elisabeth Hartley, Fundraising Manager at Queenscourt Hospice, said:

“We are so grateful to the local solicitors who are able to give up their time again this year to support Queenscourt during Will Month 2023.

“Since Queenscourt’s Make a Will Month campaign was launched in 2014, it has raised over £107,000 and seen more than 1,000 Wills written or updated.

“The future of your local Hospice relies upon people like you remembering us in your Will. It’s a simple way of ensuring that we’ll be here to care for generations to come. Once you have provided for your loved ones, please consider leaving a donation to Queenscourt.”

There is no obligation for you to include a gift to the hospice in your Will, however, any gift in your Will made to a UK registered charity such as Queenscourt Hospice, will be tax free and may help reduce the amount of Inheritance Tax your estate would otherwise have to pay.

Appointments are on a first come first served basis so book yours www.queenscourt.org.uk/makeawill
