Queenscourt Hospice is delighted to be one of over 143 hospices taking part in the “This is Hospice Care” campaign, a national initiative facilitated by Hospice UK.
The campaign aims to raise awareness about the vital role hospices play in our communities and to shift public perceptions of hospice care.
The campaign, launching today (Monday, 17th February 2025), has already captured hearts and minds through a powerful TV advert based on real life hospice stories.
The goal is to raise awareness of hospice care and encourage people to consider leaving a gift in their Will to support their local hospice, so that #teamqueenscourt and other hospices can continue to provide vital compassionate and specialist care for future generations.
Andrea Parkes, Individual Giving & Legacy Fundraiser at Queenscourt Hospice said:
“We are proud to be part of this important campaign, that not only highlights the critical work we do but also the lasting impact that gifts in Wills can have on our ability to continue providing exceptional palliative care for local people across West Lancashire, Formby and Southport, when they need us the most.”
Debbie Pierce-Lawson, Corporate Services Director at Queenscourt Hospice said:
“Gifts in Wills have helped to keep Queenscourt in service for over 30 years. Legacies are one of the biggest ways you can help to make a difference for local people facing a life-limiting illness. A Gift in your Will to Queenscourt helps us to continue providing compassionate care, today, tomorrow and for many years to come.”
Across West Lancashire, Southport and Formby, Legacy Giving has made a significant difference. Last year, Legacy Gifts accounted for 19% of Queenscourt’s income, meaning the care of 1 in 5 of Queenscourt patients is funded by Legacy Income.
Last year Queenscourt provided free Specialist Palliative Care for over 2,000 patients and supported their loved ones during a challenging time.
As an independent voluntary and charitable organisation, Queenscourt receives less than 21% of its funds from statutory bodies and it needs to make up the remaining 79% of its annual income from charitable donations and other sources. Legacies and In Memory Donations play a crucial part in achieving this much-needed income.
