Queenscourt's popular annual Christmas Tree Collection and Recycling Service is back for another year

Queenscourt’s popular annual Christmas Tree Collection and Recycling Service is back for another year, and they’re excited to see how many trees they will collect this time round!

During last year’s collection, their fantastic team of volunteers collected over 1,700 trees across Southport, West Lancashire and Formby, raising more than £20,000 for the charity.

Their amazing team of chippers are able to recycle your trees in an environmentally friendly way, so not only are you supporting Queenscourt Hospice, you are also helping the community and the environment.

This will be the seventh year that dedicated staff and volunteers are delivering the Queenscourt Christmas Tree Collection and Recycling Service for residents across West Lancashire, Southport and Formby.

They hope to raise even more funds this year to support the vital work of the hospice with a suggested donation of £10 per tree.

Between Friday 13th January – Sunday 15th January 2023 volunteers will go out on multiple routes, collecting trees from households and businesses.

The postcodes covered this year are: PR8, PR9, PR4 6, L37, L39, L40, WN8

However, the hospice needs more volunteers to help them deliver this service and raise vital funds for charity. They are currently appealing for people who have access to vans and trailers to help with the collection and we are especially looking for local gardeners, or other local businesses who could help out.

Andrea Parkes, Community and Challenge Events Fundraiser at Queenscourt, said:

“Our Christmas Tree Collection and Recycling Service has increased in popularity year-on-year and with your help and support we can collect even more trees and raise even more money for Queenscourt this January.

“It is an environmentally-friendly and easy way to have your Christmas Tree collected and recycled, whilst providing essential funding for our wonderful team to continue caring for local people with life-limiting illnesses, when they need us the most. So why not enjoy a hassle-free start to 2023 and let Queenscourt Hospice collect and recycle your Christmas Tree!”
