A Personal Training company has revealed their excitement at moving to a picturesque new location in Southport.
From The Block Fitness is making plans to move to the Waterfront, on the Promenade, with a location close to the Marine Lake.
The unit is situated underneath the Bliss Hotel sun terrace and opposite the Hungry Horse restaurant, overlooking the plaza there which looks out onto the lake.
From The Block Fitness owner Lisa Little said: “To say we are excited is an understatement!
“This location is just beautiful and motivating in itself. We feel incredibly lucky.”
From The Block Fitness will be offering circuit style fitness sessions incorporating functional and strength training and using traditional and innovative equipment, along with the usual free weights.
Technology will be embraced with a very funky heart rate and calorie burning monitoring system to keep all members motivated during the circuits.
Lisa said: “Complementing this for our members will be the continuation of our very successful completely private personal training sessions. Like your very own gym for one hour, and now right by the seaside!
“Sessions will be available on an unlimited basis for members paying monthly, and a pay-as-you-go option will also be available too. Hopefully this continues our mission of making fitness attainable for everyone.”
For Lisa, her growing business is a much deserved reward for overcoming a number of obstacles.
At the age of 36, she was busy working as a hotel manager. But her unsociable hours and poor diet led to her suffering health problems including heartburn and severe pains in her legs.
But the bubbly mum-of-three met a personal trainer in a bid to improve her health and suddenly her life changed.
Lisa lost an impressive four stone in weight, saying she was determined to change her life as she approached ‘the big 4-0’ while wanting to live a healthier life for her children.
Lisa’s 40th birthday prompted a dramatic career change as she waved goodbye to over 20 years in the hotel and hospitality industry and instead launched From The Block Fitness.
She wants to break down barriers for anyone thinking about getting healthier by letting everyone know about her own amazing journey.
She launched her business from her home near Southport town centre at the start of March – just before the coronavirus lockdown began.
But with a growing list of clients, Lisa quickly set up online fitness classes. Then, as lockdown measures eased, she began running one-to-one personal training sessions in her large back garden, with two metre social distancing measures in place at all times.
Lisa said: “Lockdown was tough for me. My business had literally just been registered on March 2 and come March 23 it looked like it was over before it had even begun!
“However, instead of seeing this as the end, I quickly moved my business online and continued to support people through Zoom and Facetime, building a network of loyal clients. This I truly believe is what has made my personal training business a success in what could have easily been a very different story.
“Since June and the Government announcement that outside fitness on a one-to-one basis could resume, my little business has grown from strength to strength.
“The support my existing and new clients have shown me has been overwhelming.
“I think we all as human beings know how important our health is, but the events of 2020 so far have really hit home with all of us that our health and fitness is clearly becoming even more of a priority, and quite rightly so.
“I feel honoured to be in a position to help people help themselves when it comes to their health. “I am grateful for the success I have had so far and cannot wait to be opening my very first premises in my home town of Southport.
“I would ask anyone interested in From The Block fitness, our story so far and our journey moving forward to opening to follow our social media pages: Facebook – From the Block Fitness, Instagram @fromtheclockfitness and @lisalittlept
“All being well we would like to be opening our doors early October 2020.”
