The ceremony will start at 11am at West Lancashire Crematorium, on Pippin Street, between Burscough and Ormskirk L40 7SP.

Cassie died in January after fighting a long battle with cancer.

Her children Stacey and Jonathon said: “Thank you all for the absolutely wonderful messages, we are overwhelmed with the amount of people sharing their condolences and love for Mum.

“We feel so honoured and lucky beyond belief to know how many lives she touched.

“Please join us to celebrate our wonderful mother Cassie James, let’s give her the celebration she so deserves.

“The ceremony at West Lancashire Crematorium will start at 11am so please come a little before.

“For the after party location, please also join us after the ceremony from 12.30pm onwards for more celebrations, drinks and snacks at Southport & Birkdale Sports Club on Trafalgar Road, Birkdale, Southport PR8 2HF.

“The dress code is bright colours only, please wear something that makes you feel fabulous (please no black).

“We hope you can all make it and share a story and memory or two with us and raise a glass for our remarkable lady. We look forward to meeting you.”

Cassie, a presenter with Mighty Radio, had fought a long battle with cancer.

Family and friends raised thousands of pounds for her in an appeal to try to secure treatment abroad after she was told by doctors that she would not live until Christmas.

Despite her gruelling cancer treatment in recent years, Cassie remained determined to use her role on the radio to highlight people doing exceptional things in Southport.

During the Covid campaign, she began a campaign to highlight where people could obtain food deliveries locally.

In a statement, her family said: “It is with the heaviest heart to be writing this, after a long battle with cancer Mum passed away. She was surrounded by her family and without pain at the very end.

“She is the strongest lady and she put up one hell of a fight even the nurses were amazed with her strength.

“We hope to celebrate her life in a way we know she wanted.”
