Hope Funeral Care on Church Street in Southport has lit up its windows pink and blue in honour of Baby Loss Awareness Week (9th – 15th October 2025).
The week culminates in the global Wave Of Light at 7pm this Wednesday (15th October 2025), with people invited to light a candle in memory of all babies’ lives gone too soon.
Hope Funeral Care Wendy Chalke and Claire Newland said: “We are encouraging our community to light a candle and remember babies born too soon.
“Baby Loss Awareness Week is a time for everyone in the baby loss community and beyond to come together, to remember our much-loved and missed babies, and raise awareness of pregnancy and baby loss.

“Few experiences can compare to the trauma and pain of pregnancy and baby loss. During this Baby Loss Awareness Week, we will acknowledge that finding ways to nurture your mental and physical wellbeing is a vital part of anyone’s bereavement journey.
“The ‘Together, we care’ theme returns this year and is about finding time to care for ourselves, and each other, as part of a community of people affected by all forms of pregnancy and baby loss.”
