The owners of a stylish new cafe in Southport say they have been ‘overwhelmed’ by its success.
Coffee At The Corner opened on Monday (8th September 2025) on Cambridge Road in Churchtown Village, next door to their sister venue – The Corner Studios wellness centre.
It is owned by Joanna Bond (nee Lyon) who is enjoying a busy year.
As well as expanding her business with a new venture, she married husband TJ in April.

Joanna said: “We’re honestly lost for words!
“We opened our doors on Monday morning and people showed up in the most beautiful way.
“We’re overwhelmed, grateful and so full of love for every single one of you who came by, grabbed a coffee or sent a message.
“This little corner has been a dream for so long and you made it real. Here’s to many more mornings, chats, and cups of coffee together.

“Last year we opened The Corner Studios. In there we offer things like reformer pilates, mat pilates and yoga, as well as hosting other practitioners.
“We are looking to expand our offering soon with things like hot pilates and hot yoga.
“When we have been running classes, lots of our clients have been talking about heading out after class to grab a coffee or a matcha.
“It seemed like a good idea to open our own cafe in the unit next door, where we can offer smoothies, acai, matcha, coffee, pastries and more.

“From a shoe shop to the little corner of our dreams, this has been months of hard work, late nights, and a whole lot of love. None of it would’ve been possible without the most amazing people and contractors bringing it all to life.
“We are mostly takeaway, although we do have a couple of tables and chairs in there, which is convenient for people to sit down while they are waiting for their order.
“At the moment we are open 7am – 4pm Monday to Friday, 8am – 3pm Saturday and 8am – 2pm on Sunday, so we’re up bright and early.

“We have been really busy this week with lots of parents coming in after their school run at Churchtown Primary School and other schools nearby!
“We have been seeing a lot of workers and contractors coming in.
“Coffee At The Corner has been a long time coming, so we are delighted to finally be open and welcoming customers.
“We wanted this to become a go-to-spot for grabbing a drink after the school run, refuelling post class and treating yourself on weekends.

“The feedback so far has been amazing. People who have come in really love the space, and the coffee.
“We knew when we were planning this that this would be somewhere that we would love to come to so we’re really pleased that everyone else loves it too.”
Coffee At The Corner follows from a number of new venues which have opened in Churchtown Village in recent years, including Tiny Treasures, The Dram, Churchill’s, Little Sparks, Arthur’s and others.
