There will be lots to talk about after the 2024/25 fixtures were released yesterday.

Carolyn Gorman said: “I’ve been in business for one year now and during that time I have enjoyed helping my clients to access a variety of services including Attendance Allowance, Blue Badges and making and registering Lasting Powers of Attorney.

“I believe there will be lots of people locally who may not have heard about my business and how we can help.

“At Grey Matters Consultancy we take pride in our work and love helping people. We offer a professional document preparation service aimed at people over retirement age.

“One of our main services is helping applicants to navigate the complicated forms that are required before you can be considered for the government benefit Attendance Allowance.

“We start with a confidential assessment to establish whether this is a benefit the person may be eligible for, and, if so, we will then do a full consultation and take all the hassle out of completing the form.  This service will be provided in a timely manner and in the comfort of the clients own home if local or otherwise over the telephone.

“I am fully DBS checked and insured and have over 35 years of experience working with and helping people. I cover anywhere around Southport and the surrounding area in person or further afield over the telephone.

“If you or your parents or loved one’s are over the age of 66, are struggling with life and experiencing health issues which affect the way you live, then please get in touch with me to see if I can help you to access this benefit.

“Attendance Allowance is not means tested and can be spent on anything you wish, maybe helping you or your loved one to remain independent in your own home.”

Sandgrounders Business Club networking meetings are held at Southport Football Club.

Sandgrounders Business Club is a relaxed, friendly, informal event to help support local businesses in Southport and the surrounding area.

They are organised by Southport Football Club, Birkdale Insurance Group, Midgley Carpet and Upholstery Cleaning and Stand Up For Southport and usually take place on the second Thursday of every month.

The informal Sandgrounders Business Club gathering is open to businesses in the Southport area and beyond.

Visitors are welcome to drop in and stay and network, or chat with other local business people, for as long or as little as they like.

Unlike other networking groups, there are no contracts involved, no fees and no restrictions on numbers of people in each profession.

Each month sees two guest speakers invited to give short talks to guests – one a sponsored speaker, the other a community / local interest speaker.

The sponsored speaker spot costs £75.
