Details have been released for this year’s Orange Lodge parades in Southport and Liverpool.
Organisers say they ““anticipate the largest attendance for a number of years, as this year’s parade falls on a Saturday”.
This Sunday (6th July 2025) will see the Annual July celebration parade taking place by members of the Liverpool Provincial Grand Orange Lodge.
The entire Province including Adults, Children, and bands look forward to attending the parade and Thanksgiving Service at the Liverpool city centre venue of the Liner Hotel. During the service long serving awards will be presented to members.
The parades will move off at 1.25pm travelling into city from Netherfield Road and the Dingle
The main 12th July parade
Saturday 12th July 2025 will see the Traditional Orange Lodge Parades taking place in Liverpool and Southport. This will be to commemorate the 335th Anniversary of the Battle of the Boyne that took place in 1690.
The Provincial Grand Master Steve Kingston says that he “anticipates the largest attendance for a number of years, as this year’s parade falls on a Saturday, which enables more of our members and supporters to attend and take part”.

This year The Everton and Kirkdale District number 8 will have the honour of leading the parade, the District, is one of the oldest within the Liverpool Province having been in existence since the mid 1800’s.
Earlier in the Year the Liverpool Province celebrated the 80th anniversary of VE Day and they will also celebrate the 80th Anniversary of VJ Day in August. To mark this occasion an ‘Orange Arch’ was commissioned at the Provincial Orange Hall in Everton.
The 12th July Parade this year will see some of the members walking through the Orange Arch at the Provincial Headquarters.
The ‘Twelfth’ parade will consist of around 70 Lodges, with some of the children dressed as King William III and Queen Mary, they will be led by Accordian, Concertina and Pipe bands.

The main parades will move off from Netherfield Road and Corn Street in the Dingle around 9am on Saturday morning.
The parades will make their way to Liverpool City Centre and meet around the vicinity of Lime Street to board buses to Southport.
The parade will form up on London Street, Southport approximately 11.15am.
When the parade arrives in Southport, Liverpool members will be joined by members from all over England including Bootle, Manchester, Sunderland, London, Corby, Birmingham Sussex and many more cities.
Senior Officers from The Grand Orange Lodge of England will walk within the parade as well as some from Scotland and Northern Ireland who will join the parade to celebrate the day.
Paul Taylor, Provincial Grand Secretary Liverpool Provincial Grand Orange Lodge, said:
“We expect large crowds to be on the streets of Southport during the parade.
“There is always a carnival atmosphere enjoyed by all who make their way to watch it.
“The parade will continue through to Princes Park, to disperse. The return parade through Southport will begin at 4.45 pm.

“In the evening the parade will leave at around 7pm from Pall Mall making its way through Liverpool City Centre, where we expect big crowds to gather to watch the parade along the route back to Everton Road and the Dingle.
“There may be some traffic disruption during the morning and evening in the city centre of Liverpool and Southport.”
