Nominations are now open for Citizens 4 Good’s last event for 2024.
The event will take place in Southport on 10th October 2024, at Southport Town Hall, at 5:30pm.
2024 is the borough of Sefton’s 50th birthday. To celebrate, Sefton 4 Good’s 50 for 50 campaign aims to bring together local communities through community-centric events across the borough, encouraging participation in volunteering opportunities.
We also want to recognise 50 outstanding citizens across our three Citizens 4 Good events. So far we have celebrated Sefton’s community heroes in Bootle and Maghull Town Hall.
Lauren Jones, Volunteer Centre Sefton and Sefton 4 Good Coordinator said:
“With the borough of Sefton and Sefton CVS turning 50 this year we wanted to celebrate the unsung heroes in the area.
“We want to hear from you! Do you know someone in your community or group who makes a significant difference? Is there a neighbour who always goes the extra mile to help others? Perhaps you know someone living in Sefton who has raised remarkable amounts for charity or made a positive impact on a cause that reaches beyond our borough. If so, nominate them for a Citizen 4 Good award!”
The event will be attended by the Mayor of Sefton, Councillor June Burns who will present nominees with a certificate of thanks and recognition.
Previous recipients include a group from Formby who’ve driven humanitarian aid to Ukraine, refugees who have contributed positively to the Sefton community, a posthumous award to a young councillor and a teenager who has helped Alder Hey with their Sensory Environment Project.
Members of the public can nominate by going to the Sefton 4 Good website and completing the online form.
The Citizen 4 Good Awards are also looking for sponsorship from local businesses. If your business wants to get involved with this heart-warming community event please contact [email protected]. There are a number of different packages available.
