A new wine bar is due to open in Ainsdale Village in Southport, creating five new jobs.
The Barr is set to move into 2 Station Road as a replacement for Poon’s Takeaway, well known locally as specialists in Peking and Cantonese cuisine.
A planning application has been submitted to Sefton Council for a change of use from a hot food takeaway into a wine bar.
The scheme would involve the creation of an outdoor seating space to the front of the premises.
Plans lodged with the local authority by Clayton Architecture would also see alterations to the front of the 63.4 square metre building which would see the installation of bi-fold doors and alterations to the side, such as the insertion of a ground floor window.
The application has been submitted by Pam Barr.
The proposals suggest the creation of one full time and four part time roles in the new business.
The proposed opening hours would be: midday to 11pm Monday to Friday and Midday to 11.30pm on Saturday, with Midday to 11pm every Sunday and Bank Holiday.
There would be new illuminated fascia signage above the entrance to replace the existing signage, plus new illuminated signage to the side of the building.
