A brand new Pokémon TCG store is opening in Southport town centre this weekend!
Gawtos TCG will open in the former Dog Haus unit at 14 Post Office Avenue on Saturday (18th July 2026).
It will be situated next door to The Hobby Post, which opened in June, offering a new world for fans of fantasy games and literature such as Warhammer, Dungeons & Dragons and more.
Gawtos TCG is owned by Keira Reid and Levi Bailey, who were impressed by the offering of Pokémon outlets in the Netherlands, and wanted to bring something similar to Southport.
They said: “Join us for opening day at 10:30am-5pm this Saturday 18th July!
“Bring your binders for trades and browse through the selection of cards and sealed we have for sale!
“Don’t forget to get a free raffle ticket on the day for a chance to win a free first partner series 2 box!
“Make sure you check any pack you purchase in case they have a hidden sticker, find a hidden sticker and you’ll get a free two that being me (Keira) and my partner (Levi).
“We have always loved Pokémon since childhood, both growing up collecting the cards and enjoying the show.

“We started collecting Pokémon cards together in 2021. As time has gone on the hobby and community has only grown in popularity, the problem nowadays is that getting your hands on Pokémon products for a reasonable price has become a task within itself, we found ourselves frustrated with how scarce Pokémon items had become.
“In late 2025 we went to Amsterdam which has a wide variety of card shops and found ourselves impressed with the quality of the shops over there asking ourselves why don’t we have anything like this in Southport.
“With that previous thought in mind we didn’t think much more into it until we were offered a spot to be a vender at a card show run by HARP Coffee & Games on King Street in Southport.
“We were very happy with the outcome of these card shows and realised we probably weren’t the only people who would want a dedicated store.”
