A brand new artisan chocolate shop is opening in Churhctown Village on Tuesday!

RS Fine Chocolate, run by Rob and Jo Swinden, is opening in the site of a former chocolate shop on Botanic Road.

The couple have forged a superb reputation as top class chocolatiers from their existing shop in Ainsdale, and are looking forward to expanding.

Customers at the opening will be spoiled for choice thanks to the couple’s amazing creations, many with a stylish Christmas theme.

Would you choose Christmas Pudding Truffles? Or their Classic Liverpool Gin Chocolate? Perhaps their White Chocolate Christmas Shards?

Everton FC fans will love the new ‘Dixie’ Whisky and Ginger Chocolate, made in honour of legendary goalscorer Dixie Dean – an idea they had with the help of Mr Dean’s granddaughter, this was his favourite drink.

RS Fine Chocolate has a fun side too.

Would you try Chocolate Christmas Sprout Truffles? They look exactly like the green sprouts that children try their best to avoid on Christmas Day, but these are filled with smooth vanilla ganache.

Children will also smile at the shop’s Poo Emojis.

Rob and Jo Swinden said: “It is looking very cosy here tonight in Churchtown! We are stocking up, as much as possible, for opening on Tuesday at last!

“Please bear with us as we introduce more and more stock leading up to Christmas.

“I’m sure it will fit right into the beautiful historic Botanic Road in Churchtown.

“Some people might remember this as a former little quaint chocolate shop and we hope to create something really special here.”

RS Fine Chocolate began as an artisan chocolatier in the heart of Ainsdale Village. Specialists in bespoke chocolate work, everything is hand crafted on-site in their ‘chocolate box’ sized shop using traditional methods of tempering, moulding and filling pralines by Chocolatier Robert Swinden.

Most recipes originate from over 30 years experience gained working alongside Master Chocolatiers from Belgium, Germany and France.

Taking this inspiration the firm has put a local twist on the recipes, such as Strawberry Fields, Everton Toffee Mint, Cheshire Honey Flower, Liverpool Gin, Maritime Salted Caramel, Marmalade Sky, Aintree Dark Caramel (Jockeys Cap!), and the Haydock Hazelnut and Cognac praline.

Signature ‘Natterjack Toad’ chocolates are available in gift boxes or loose to enjoy. The gift boxes feature beautiful illustrations of the Natterjack Toad by artist Emma Dibben.

As well as the ‘Natterjacks’ there are also the ‘Formby Asparagus’,  ‘Southport Shrimp’ and ‘Red Squirrel’ chocolates.

Rob and Jo Swinden said: “We wanted to produce artisan chocolates that also linked in our beautiful landscape, local wildlife and heritage. Something for our community to feel proud of.

“Our couverture chocolate blends are imported from Europe, including French and Belgian couvertures. As a specialist chocolate business, we work with specialist suppliers because we are confident of their commitment to fair and sustainable cocoa production – Fair Trade and Rainforest Alliance approved.”
