Kind-hearted fundraisers from a Liverpool based security company are asking people to help them raise £5,000 after walking 50 miles across Merseyside in memory of the girls who died in Southport last summer.
The determined team from MPK9 set off on their trek at midnight on Saturday (17th May 2025) from Warrington Wolves.
They then headed through the borough towards Haydock Park, onto the M & S bank arena in Liverpool city centre, through to Aintree racecourse, heading back towards the coast to Marine Football Club in Crosby and finishing off at Southport Football Club.
So far they have raised over £4,200 for a community project aiming to transform the Churchtown Primary School playground in Churchtown in Southport in memory of Alice Da Silva Augiur and Bebe King.

They would love donations from anyone who can help them reach their £5,000 target before their fundraising page closes at midnight tonight (Tuesday 20th May 2025).

A spokesperson for MPK9 said: “This has been the hardest thing ever, but you know what, we said we would do what we have done!
“The walk should have been 48 miles, but we walked 50 miles!
“What a team! We all grafted, nobody gave up until they were completely done with 0 left in the tank, everyone tried to push through each section.

“A couple of the team joined us halfway through whilst some of the team were forced to call it a day early due to the relentless task!
“A whopping four of the team made it from the start, to the finish taking every step themselves for over 50 miles (a walking stick may have appeared at one point)! 18 hours of straight walking with the maximum of a 10 minute stop off!
“The sun came out and absolutely annihilated us through to Marine down the dock road and the cracks were showing then!

“But we pushed through that with a final run into Southport going the wrong way over daft off road hills due to a silly detour by Dobbies!
“Anyway, we made it, we’ve hit just over £4,000 for this unreal charity!
“It will be closing tonight at midnight with a final figure by the end of the week.
“If anyone wants to make a final donation, please do so via this link
“We’re raising £5,000 for a community project aiming to transform the Churchtown Primary playground in memory of Alice Da Silva Augiur and Bebe King. We will be also sharing the total raised with the Elsie Dot Story Charitable Trust in the memory of the three angels lost during Summer 24.
“The team from MPK9 have worked in Southport before, during and after the tragedy of summer 2024 and have seen how the community worked tirelessly to restore faith, humanity and love in the area once again.
“Thanks again to all the team who put their maximum effort in!

“Thanks to Prima Donna Gibb for the T-shirts that she made for us and gifted to the cause
“Thanks to Austere & Event Medical Solutions for providing our event medical cover for the whole 18 hours! Was literally impossible without them.
“Our fundraising will be closing tonight at midnight! So any last minute donates will be greatly appreciated!
“Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.”
