Southport care home MHA Connell Court in Birkdale in Southport recently completed a 24-hour treadmill challenge.
Staff, families and residents took part to raise funds to have landscaping work carried out to enable residents more flexibility and ease of use of their communal garden space.
The team lead by activity co-ordinator Cathy Rothwell took turns to cover the 24-hour period from Friday 21st April until Saturday 22nd April at noon.
An MHA Connell Court spokesperson said: “Some of our residents also had a go and loved it.
“Residents and families were very encouraging for all those who took part and
donations have already reached £1,172.50.

“The landscaping will cost in excess of £5,000 and we have a long way to go to reach our target.
“We would like to thank all those who have supported us and in particular Tesco at Kew who are very generous when donating to our fundraising causes.
