Suzanne Grant has been appointed Interim Managing Director of Merseyrail.
Suzanne will take on the position while the current Managing Director, Neil Grabham, undertakes an interim assignment as Managing Director at East Midlands Railway.
Having worked closely with Suzanne, Neil has expressed his full confidence in her ability to provide continuity and lead the business through to April 2027.
Suzanne has played a significant role in the business for more than a decade. She joined the organisation as Marketing Manager in 2012 and has since held a number of senior roles, including Commercial Director, before becoming Chief Commercial Officer and Deputy Managing Director in 2024.
During her time at Merseyrail, Suzanne has helped shape the way the business delivers for passengers, with a strong focus on improving the customer experience, supporting station teams, and leading the company’s commercial strategy.
Suzanne has also worked closely with colleagues at the Liverpool City Region Combined Authority on major customer-focused improvements, including the launch of Tap & Go across the City Region in 2025.
Suzanne will lead Merseyrail with a continued focus on delivering a reliable, high-quality railway for passengers and communities across the Liverpool City Region.
