Making Energy Greener is celebrating earning national recognition in two separate categories at the prestigious Energy Efficiency Awards.

The growing energy efficiency firm, which is based in Southport and works across the UK, won third place for National Insulation and Fabric Installer of the Year.

They also earned third place for National Boiler and Heating Installer of the Year.

The EEA Awards were held at the Hilton Birmingham Metropole Hotel in Birmingham on Friday (21st November 2025) as they honoured businesses from the UK energy sector.

The Energy Efficiency Awards strives to recognise the great innovators and achievements in the industry.

It is vital to save energy and in doing so help the environment and drive down our energy bills and it is the pioneering award winners and nominees who are at the sharp end setting out to achieve this.

They have often been the unsung heroes of the industry and these national awards give businesses like Making Energy Greener the voice and recognition they deserve.

Entertainment on the night was provided by the legendary Spandau Ballet frontman Tony Hadley as he serenaded all the winners who won ‘Gold’.

The awards were enjoyed by a team from Making Energy Greener including: Craig Stewart, Rebecca Armstrong, Dan Holcroft, Ian Riley, John Paul Hilton, Dan Hames Godfrey, Joe Steadman, Edward Hatch, Scott Hughes and Junaid Ishfaq.

Making Energy Greener also sponsored the National Multi-Measure Project of the Year Award.

This accolade recognises the efforts of all those involved in delivering a successful large scale energy efficiency project, where multiple energy efficiency measures of more than one type have been installed.

Making Energy Greener Director Craig Stewart said:

“I am very proud of the team at Making Energy Greener!

“It’s great recognition for all the hard work they’ve done this year in delivering deep retrofit projects across the UK.”

Making Energy Greener Founder and Strategic Director Rebecca Armstrong said:

“It was brilliant to receive recognition on the night at the Energy Efficient Awards.

“I’d like to say congratulations to all the winners and the finalists on the night, and thank you to Gary Braybrook and Kenneth Campbell and everyone at the Energy Efficiency Awards for organising a fantastic evening.”

Making Energy Greener (MEG) is a family business, leading the green future of our homes, addressing fuel poverty and reducing carbon by delivering deep retrofit and energy-efficient measures to properties across the UK.

The firm was based in Preston before expanding and moving into new premises in Southport earlier this year.

Formerly Mersey Eco Grants, MEG has over 20 years of combined experience in the retrofit sector. The team is passionate about the UK government’s target to reach net zero carbon neutrality by 2050 and believes we have a moral duty to leave the world in a better condition than we found it.

MEG has already supported individual homeowners, social housing providers, private landlords, commercial organisations, house builders, local authorities and energy suppliers to install eco measures and energy-saving solutions to thousands of homes across the UK, with many of these projects being supported by ECO funding.

Committed to a carbon-neutral future with a passion for tackling fuel poverty, MEG believes that making every home an ‘eco-home’ is a beautiful ambition.
