Southport firm M W Henshaw Jnr Landscapes LTD is working with Liverpool Football Club to create a landscape garden at this year’s Southport Flower Show.
The design has been chosen through ideas from local children.
The theme of the garden will raise awareness of mental health.
Southport Flower Show will take place at Victoria Park from Thursday 17th August to Sunday 20th August 2023. Tickets are avai;lable here.

Max Henshaw Jr said: “Very happy to announce that I have been asked by Liverpool FC to bring-to-life their ideas for a landscape garden, displaying at this year’s Southport Flower Show! A complete honour to be recognised by this great club… My club!
“I was proud to be part of a panel in the Eights Lounge, Anfield in a Dragon’s Den like scenario, to help choose the right project that some of the local children from Liverpool have designed.
“The theme of the garden is to help raise mental health awareness.
“We will create a safe and tranquil environment for people who enter the area. I think all the designs brought forward did just that.
“All the ideas were outstanding. The children did brilliantly. It was so hard to choose a winner, but we did!
“I look forward to getting the plans ready for my team and we will complete the task to the best of our ability with the kids’ hard work and the good cause at the front of our mind.
“I’d like to give a big thank you to Matt, Tracy, the rest of the team at LFC and all those involved from the LFC Foundation.
“Be sure you come and check the finished project out at Victoria Park Southport from the 17th to the 20th of August 2023.”
Southport Flower Show has a superb line-up this year.
Countdown star Rachel Riley and Strictly Come Dancing star Pasha Kovalev have been announced as the latest stars to join the event.
Rachel and Pasha will join Frances Tophill (Gardeners’ World and Love Your Garden), Lee Burkhill (The Garden Ninja), Jason Williams (The Cloud Gardener), Keith Brymer Jones (The Great Pottery Throw Down), Daisy Desire (The Drag Queen Gardener), James Wong (Botanist, Broadcaster and Best-Selling Author), Justin Fletcher (CBeebies Children’s Entertainer), Phil Vickery (ITV This Morning), Katie Rushworth (Love Your Garden), Lee Connelly (Skinny Jean Gardener), John Torode MBE and Lisa Faulkner (celebrity chefs), Lizzie Acker (Great British Bake Off), Gabriella Margiotta (MasterChef) and Jemma Melvin (Platinum Pudding Competition winner) at this year’s show.
Plans for this year’s event are well underway and the combination of garden and floral displays, cookery demonstrations, shopping village, arena entertainment, live music and much more makes Southport Flower Show a great day outdoors for the whole family this summer.
Southport Flower Show is a registered charity (charity number 1000698) and the largest independent flower show in the country attracting over 55,000 visitors across 4 days. Early bird tickets now on sale for £23.00 until the end of May. Children under 16 go free.
