Visitors have been giving their verdict on the brand new Luminate Winter Light Trail in Southport

This sparkling new event takes place at Victoria Park in Southport every day up to and including Thursday, 23rd December.

The winter interactive light trail features 25,000 lights, creating 14 ‘wow features’ stretched across a trail 1.2 kilometres long.

Once on the light trail visitors can expect 3D projections, light tunnels, a wishing tree, interactive shadow play, a laser light maze and much more.

On the Luminate Facebook page, Joanna Stevenson said: “We had a truly fabulous night out at Southport Luminate, it was a magical experience, the lights are just amazing.

“It was cold on the night we went but we wrapped up well, this also meant we got to enjoy the delicious hot chocolate! How great to have a local event to support, I would highly recommend it to all ages.”

Diane Thomas said: “Went to Southport Luminate tonight and it was fantastic!! The staff were all super friendly, super shout out to the guy on the shadow wall, you were so much fun! Couldn’t fault it at all (well except the price of the marshmallows) but definitely 5 stars from us. Absolutely beautiful lights too!”

Vicki Wright said: “We visited Southport Luminate and really enjoyed the whole experience.

“Even though we know the park quite well, it was a very different experience following the light trail.

“We loved the rainbow trees and the fairy glen, all the stewards were very friendly and helpful.

“I would recommend the event to my friends, it is great to have something new in Southport!”

Lauren Pierce said: “It’s fab! Totally recommend.”

Sarah Jane Robbins said: “We really enjoyed it despite the cold. Hoping to go again before Christmas.”

Susan Stacey said: “It’s brilliant. Loved the effect of lights on the lake set to music, and the fairies. We toasted marshmallows, had mulled wine and wrote out wishes.

“Couldn’t believe we had been in there for 90 minutes.”

Luminate already operates eye-catching illuminated events at venues around the UK, in Wales, Coventry, Norfolk and Cheshire.

This is the first time they have brought their showcase to Southport and they are appreciating the feedback from the hundreds of visitors who have already enjoyed the trail.

The event is here every day until 23rd December, with visitors admitted in 15 minute slots from 4.30pm-4.45pm right through to 8.15pm-8.30pm. It is to ensure that there are no big crowds at any one time, allowing everyone a better experience as they flow through the park.

The trail is approximately 1.2km long and (depending on how quickly you walk through) will take around an hour to 90 minutes to complete.
