The LOL Bingo lounge in Southport town centre is celebrating its first birthday this weekend!
People are welcome to join their celebrations between midday and midnight this Saturday (3rd October 2026) with plenty of fun in store.
LOL Bingo is situated at 229-233 Lord Street, next door to The Auld Dubliner and near The Scarisbrick Hotel.
The fun interactive venue was officially opened on 3rd October 2025 by former Southport bingo managers Derick Moss (general manager at Ladbrokes Lucky Seven / The Garrick 1974-1979) and John Waby (general manager at Ladbrokes Lucky Seven / The Garrick 1980-1981).
The new local independent business opened thanks to a £350,000 investment in the site, with the creation of eight new jobs.
They have enjoyed a warm reception since opening, and want to welcome everyone to join them this Saturday.
The firm also operates sites in Newcastle and Manchester.
LOL Bingo Director Mike Smith said:
“We’d love to invite you to come and join us this Saturday as we celebrate our very first birthday with a full day of extras at LOL Bingo Southport!
“Our Breakfast Club will run as normal from 10am to 12 noon, then from 12 noon the birthday celebrations begin!
“We will have birthday cake available – created for us by the amazing team at Cake Corner in Southport Market. It’s sure to be popular!
“We’ll also have bubbly on arrival.
“For the first time, we’ll have karaoke taking place between 9pm and 11pm – with a bottle of Prosecco for the best singer!
“Come and help us celebrate one whole year of LOL Bingo Southport.
“It’s been a fantastic first year. We’ve had a really warm welcome from people in Southport, which is such a fantastic town.
“We’re really looking forward to our second year!”

The venue has opened at a time when lots of regeneration is happening nearby.
Sefton Council is currently carrying out a consultation on the planned £10 million of the Town Hall Gardens opposite LOL Bingo.
A short walk away, building work is taking place to create the new £5million Wetherspoon Hotel, while the new Digz’n ‘Lidz RC experience cafe opened on Lord Street last month.
Building is also taking place on the £20 million restoration of Southport Pier and the £106 million Marine Lake Events Centre.

“Southport is a place that sees so many visitors, especially for their big events, and we have seen people coming in from Liverpool, Preston, Scotland, Yorkshire, all around the UK.
“Since we opened last year, we have listened to feedback and have invested in creating more opportunities to play bingo – people in Southport love their bingo!
“Ever since Mecca Bingo closed on Lord Street six years ago, everyone wants somewhere to come and play.
“We now have 32 positions, an increase on the original 24, where people can come in and play.
“Karaoke is something else we are bringing in, which people can experience for the first time this weekend!
“It’s brilliant to see all the positive investment happening in Southport town centre at the moment.
“No-one wants to walk along a high street and see loads of empty shops, so it’s been very encouraging to see so much money being spent to improve the town and so many new businesses opening up nearby.
“We really believe in Southport as a town – it’s a place that’s only going to keep getting better.”
