Southport law firm Brown Turner Ross has pledged to support the Southport Soup Kitchen as the number of people needing the service has risen sharply.

Founded in Southport in 1884 the team at Brown Turner Ross is keen to help those who are struggling in the current cost of living crisis and are asking clients and businesses to donate whatever they can to make sure that those less fortunate have somewhere to go to feed themselves and their families.

Sam Bushell, Managing Director at Brown Turner Ross said:

“We are asking everyone we know  to look through their cupboards and drop off anything they can spare.  The local Soup Kitchen has seen the largest increase of people using their service this year in the facilities 20-year history and we feel strongly that we want to support those who need it the  most during these very difficult economic times.”

The team is asking for people to drop off any spare non-perishable items of food including tinned items such as tuna, curry, beans, vegetables, soups, tomatoes etc, or dried items such as rice, pasta, cereal and cartons, bottles or cans of drinks.  Also in very short supply are toiletries including deodorant, shower gels, shampoo, toothpaste and wipes.

Drop off during office hours at Brown Turner Ross, 11 St. George’s Place, Lord Street,  Southport, PR9 OAL, by midday on Friday 22nd September and the team will ensure that all supplies are delivered to the Southport Soup Kitchen ready for the busy weekend.

Sam Bushell said:

“We are keen to make sure that we help the amazing volunteers at the Southport Soup Kitchen to continue the incredible work they do and we ask everyone to please support them at this really difficult time.”

Brown Turner Ross also has an office in Liverpool city centre and specialises in family, private client, corporate and commercial property, housing disrepair and dispute resolution work.
