Kalash Divine Indian in Southport has updated its menu with some stylish new street food and delicious new dishes to wow customers this summer.

The sophisticated Indian restaurant has also undergone a fresh new look, with a refurbishment that has included new lighting, blinds, wall paper and more.

Kalash Divine Indian, at 1-5 Lord Street, at the southern end of Lord Street, has built an unrivalled reputation for top quality, freshly-cooked dishes that reveal the true nature of Indian food since it opened five years ago.

Owners Ranjeet Singh and Alvino Cardozo have attracted a large number of regular customers who keep coming back time and time again.

Behind their success is a talented team of chefs, who spend hours in the kitchen preparing all the dishes from scratch using the freshest and most authentic ingredients.

The newly expanded menu celebrates all the very best of Indian food from all corners of the subcontinent.

Ranjeet Singh: “We have been working hard to update and expand our menu and offer some exciting new dishes for our customers.

“We have a very talented team of chefs from a variety of backgrounds. They have been working closely together to create some new dishes – we have been tasting them all and have added the very best to our menu for diners to enjoy.

“The feedback so far has been extremely positive!

“One new dish is an Indian street food classic, which we have added to our starters – ‘yoghurt bombs’, or Sev Puri.

“These have been received exceptionally well! People love them, they have been a huge hit.

“Sev puri recipe is a canape-like snack – where crispy puff pastry is topped with tamarind chutney, herbs, ground spices and more, and topped with mint yoghurt.

“They give you a mixture of flavours all at once – spicy, sweet, tangy, savoury, crunchy, all bursting in your mouth with each bite.

“This popular chaat snack is an authentic Mumbai style recipe and something very new to Southport.

“We have some other tasty new dishes for people to enjoy too.

“They add to our other popular starters such as Chicken ’65’, which is crisp batter fried boneless chicken with garlic, vinegar, chilli, yoghurt and curry leaves.

“That has become our most popular starter by far, so we hope Sev Puri will become an equally firm favourite!

“We have introduced some other new additions.

“They include Bhatti Ka Murg; Chunks of boneless chicken, marinated with curd, chilli, crushed coriander, royal cumin, nutmeg, peppercorn, infused in malt vinegar, grilled in the clay oven.

Samundri Ratan is a stunning new dish for anyone who loves seafood; Scallops, mussels and squid tossed in mustard, garlic and cumin flavoured spicy Goan tomato masala. It’s a really special dish.

“We have some beautiful new main dishes.

“They include Lamb Shank; Lamb shank simmered with whole spices, chargrilled, topped with a sauce of its own ‘jus’ on a bed of cumin potato mash.

“Another is Roast Black Pepper Duck; Oven roasted duck breast, cooked with special tomato-black pepper sauce, offering perfect flavour that black pepper impacts.

“We also have Matar Mushroom Makhana; Button mushroom, green peas cooked with onion, tomato and home made grind whole spices, finished with fresh cream and fox nuts.

“Customers love our new King Prawn Jalfrezi, King prawns cooked with freshly ground spices and flipped with peppers, onions and tomatoes.

“Also popular is Malabari Konju Seafood Stew; A fine selection of seafood including mussels, scallops, squid and fish gently stewed with creamy coconut milk and coriander.

“The new dishes we have introduced are from all over India, some from the north, some from the south; there are very big differences in the ingredients and the spices used, which means there is a real variety for our customers to try.

“The feedback so far has been fantastic. People are really enjoying discovering something new.
