InvestSefton is launching a new business start-up support service with two free events later this month.

Sefton residents interested in becoming self-employed and starting your own business can pop along to one of these free, friendly and informal InvestSefton events to meet the team

They are a chance to find out more about the support available and hear inspirational stories from other Sefton residents who have started their own business.

Subjects covered will include:

  • developing a comprehensive business plan;
  • creating financial forecasts to understand the costs of running your business;
  • identifying sources of finance to get started.

Organised in partnership with Merseyside Expanding Horizons and Safe Regeneration, the events will be at:

  • 30 West St, Southport, 12 noon to 2pm on Wednesday 20th March.
  • Lock & Quay, 2 Irlam Rd, Bootle, 5pm to 7pm on Tuesday 26th March.

Both events are free. Anyone wanting to go along can book a place by emailing investsefton@sefton.gov.uk or calling 0151 934 3452.

Cllr Christine Howard, Sefton Council’s Cabinet Member for Regeneration and Skills said:

“People often tell us they want to start their own business but often they do not have enough information or are unsure of the process.

“These events are designed to answer some of these questions and provide those prospective business owners with tips and advice to help them negotiate the process successfully.

“So, if that sounds like you, book you free place now and take the first step to being your own boss.”

InvestSefton is Sefton Council’s enterprise, business support and inward investment service.  It offers free information and advice and access to a wide range of services and is there to help any business, of any size, in any sector.
