These images reveal how the new home for Formby Football Club will look.

Owner Hugh McAuley, who grew up in Formby, has spent several years working on a proposal to transform the club’s grounds into a community sports centre and is hoping that he will finally soon be able to bring his exciting vision to life.

The facilities will be able to be used by sports enthusiasts from across Sefton.

He said: “After 12 months working together with our architects Zara Moon, we have designed the new Sports Complex for Altcar Formby.

“This will be the home for the new Formby Football Club and many sporting activities.

“Thank you to the many teams and organisations that have already committed themselves to use the facility, this will be a fantastic sporting facility for families in Sefton.

“We will be submitting a planning application in the near future along with commercial users to pay for the complex.
