Well-known gardening expert Christine Walkden will officially open the 100th Show and will crown the Floral Queen.

Tickets, priced £5, are available at village shops The Chocolate Box, Autobarn and Bloomin’ Crafty or online at Eventbrite. Payment may also be made at the door on the night.
There will also be a Children’s Pet Show on Friday 1 July at 6.30pm on the Village Green.
Saturday 20 July 1912 was the date of the first Ainsdale Horticultural Society Annual exhibition, with prizes worth £50.
The show was held in the grounds of the Lakeside Hotel (site of the Sands Hotel). The show was opened by the wife of the local MP, Mr Dalrymple-White.
The Show has been held 98 times in the following 100 years with gaps for wartime and the Covid-19 pandemic. It has been held in a number of locations including the grounds of the Ainsdale Club, The Field (corner of Shore Road and Sandringham Road) and St John’s Church.

An Ainsdale Show spokesperson said: “Everyone involved with the Society are rightly very proud of this achievement and are looking forward to a fabulous show on the Village Green.
“Covid has affected the cost of equipment needed for the show and this year has seen costs inevitably increase. We don’t anticipate this being our last Show but the Executive Committee has yet to discuss what format future shows will take in order to reduce the costs.
“We do look forward to a really good 100th Show and making memories the local adults made as children in the past and hopefully the present children will make for their future.
“Don’t miss this very special show. Tickets purchased before 10pm on Friday 1 July are discounted and can be bought from village shops The Chocolate Box, Autobarn and Bloomin’ Crafty or online at Eventbrite.”
