People in Southport are being invited to put on their best Grand National race day outfits and help raise money for Macmillan Cancer Support.
It has now been over a year since the Macmillan Charity Ball of 2020 and a significant change has happened across this planet.
However it’s not changed the fact that cancer is still a main cause of death in the UK and Macmillan Cancer Support still supports around 3 million people living with the disease.
There has been a significant difference for support over the last year where Covid-19 has been an issue, with last year’s Grand National among many events cancelled.
The organisers of the Southport Macmillan Charity Ball have produced another event on 10 April 2021, one that you can do in your own home or garden to abide by any government restrictions in place.
This year, the organiser, Tracy Hall is holding a charity competition for the Best Dressed sponsor.
All you need to do is donate to the official JustGiving site and take a photograph of yourself in your Grand National-style glad-rags or your best Race Day apparel and post it on the Facebook page Macmillan Grand National Day In 2021.

Tracy said: “We’re super excited to host another event to support the charity so close to my heart and we hope to raise lots of donations that can change the lives of anyone affected by cancer.
“We managed to support the charity last year with over £4,000 in donations with loads of sponsors too, and this year there are 3 top prizes up for grabs and they will be revealed closer to the event.”
