As the seasons change, November is the perfect time to try something new and give back to your community.

Across Southport and Sefton, there’s a fantastic range of volunteering opportunities — from helping out in local green spaces and supporting community events to taking on driving, admin, or creative roles. Whatever your skills, interests, or availability, there’s something for everyone.

This month also marks Trustees’ Week (4–8 November), a chance to celebrate the dedicated volunteers who guide local charities and make a real difference behind the scenes. We spoke to Suzi Ning from Southport, a trustee for Brighter Living Partnership, a local health and wellbeing charity. Suzi is also Chief of Staff to the Chief Medical Officer at the Northern Care Alliance, a school governor, and a mum of two. In our interview, she shares what being a trustee means to her, why she supports local wellbeing initiatives, and how she balances her many roles. Watch her interview here.
