A former printers in Churchtown in Southport is being transformed into a brand new play-based learning space and cafe.
Building work is currently taking place at the former Watkinson & Bond Ltd printers at 25 Botanic Road Southport to convert it into Little Sparks Southport.
A planning application for the scheme has been submitted to Sefton Council by applicant Stephanie Brough.
It is a further boost for Churchtown, which has seen the new Vintage Home business open on the other side of Botanic Road, while plans have also been lodged to convert a vacant building to the rear of Checkers DIY on Botanic Road into a new market hall, shops and apartments.
The Little Sparks Southport business would be open from 9am to 6pm Monday to Friday, and 10am to 4pm on Saturdays, closed on Sundays and bank holidays.

The planning application seeks permission for a Change of Use from a former printers to a play-based learning space for children aged between 0 and 5 years old with the addition of cafe type services.
The existing shop front and period features would be retained.
The project will involve the installation of a simple kitchen area, other items will be freestanding. Adult guardians must accompany children at all times.
The business would employ two full time members of staff.
