Are you looking for volunteering roles that could help our local community this summer?

Volunteer Centre Sefton is working with Stand Up for Southport to provide a monthly update on volunteering across the Southport and Formby area.

This summer get into the community spirit by volunteering your time and skills. Whether you’re passionate about environmental conservation, helping out at local events, or supporting community services, there’s a rewarding opportunity waiting for you.

Volunteering is a fantastic way to make new friends, learn new skills, and give back to the community. Sign up today at the Volunteer Centre Sefton.

Football coach

Southport & Formby Special Athletes are looking for a football coach to assist in coaching football skills (indoors) with people who have intellectual disabilities. This is a super rewarding role and a great way to expand your coaching skills while making a difference.

Galloways Wellbeing Walk volunteer

Galloway’s Society for the Blind is looking for Wellbeing Walk Volunteers to support their walks in the Southport area. The walks are a chance for people with a visual impairment to be aided in taking a stroll and getting some fresh air with a friendly group. They will be staff-led with volunteers offering support and company for the outing.

The role involves:

  • Guiding someone with a visual impairment
  • Keeping the conversation flowing
  • Helping to facilitate a calming and enjoyable stroll in the outdoors

British Heart Foundation – Eastbank Street

British Heart Foundation (BHF) charity shop on Eastbank Street in Southport town centre is looking for volunteers to help on the cash desk, in the stock room and with online listings. They are a friendly team and the BHF offers full training, in-store discounts and pays reasonable travel expenses.

Revitalise

Revitalise Sandpipers on Marine Lake in Southport is looking for volunteers to help give their disabled guests the best possible holiday. This Southport landmark is currently recruiting social activity and wellbeing volunteers to provide companionship and support to guests by chatting with them at meal times, joining in with their activities, accompanying them on daily excursions to local sites and evening entertainment alongside staff.
