First ever Southport Community Wellbeing Fair enjoys a busy day and positive feedback from visitors

The first ever Southport Community Wellbeing Fair has proved to be a huge success, with hundreds of families exploring a wide range of local organisations present and what they offer. 

Southport Community Wellbeing Fair: A Celebration of Community, Connection and Healthy Living was held in the Extravaganza events space at Southport Market on Saturday (21st February 2026). 

This free community event, organised by Sefion CVS, brought together a wide range of local groups, activities and organisations dedicated to supporting wellbeing across the town.

It was a busy day in Southport, with the annual Ukrainian Day taking place at The Atkinson at the same time with a Las Vegas Casino Charity Night Party held at The Grand on Saturday evening. 

Visitors chatted with organisations at a marketplace of stalls, where they shared information and showcased the activities they offer. Groups attending included: The Hearth, Active Sefton, Mums the Word, Sefton Opera, Freedom to Flourish, Southport U3A, Brighter Living Partnership, Southport Sailing Club, Southport Flower Show, Spectrum Alliance Merseyside, Art Ease, Southport Saviours and more.

As part of the day, there were a series of free taster sessions, each lasting around 15–30 minutes. 

They included: Self Love Yoga with The Dairy Holistic Hub; The Man Cave with Gregg;Stitching Together with The Hearth Network; Mindful Drawing with Art Ease CIC; Basic CPR with Southport Saviours; Jigsaws with Birkdale Community Hub & Library; and Boccia with Active Sefton.

On Stand Up For Southport, Jo-Anne Lewis said: “We were there with our sports group – Southport and Formby Special Athletes.

“It was a really well organised event with some great connections made between different organisations.”

Michala Leyland said: “We had a great time Living Well Sefton sharing how we can support local people and catching up with partners such as Brighter Living Partnership.”

It was such a productive afternoon handing out lots of flyers & cards for Memories R Made Dementia Choir, Southport Wellbeing Choir and Southport ALN, and meeting so many lovely people along the way
