Eva’s Sewing Room in Southport town centre is inviting people to join them as they celebrate their fifth birthday this Saturday (26th September 2026).
The busy independent business opened its door at 22 King Street, in the Market Quarter, in September 2021.
It was one of the first new businesses to open near Southport Market after the landmark venue’s successful £1.4 million transformation into a new food, drink and events hub in July 2021.
The area was further improved last year by the £6.25 million public realm works in the Market Quarter, which included the pedestrianisation of Market Street to enable it to host more outdoor events and outdoor seating.

Eva’s Sewing Room is owned by expert seamstress Eva Kubicka, who opened her first shop after gaining a large army of customers and followers through Facebook and through word of mouth.
She has become even busier since opening in such a prominent town centre location.
The growing numbers have come through positive recommendations; through greater footfall; and through successful collaborations with established local businesses such as Lapel Menswear in Wayfarers Arcade, Man to Man on Lord Street, The Vincent Hotel on Lord Street and others.
The services provided at Eva’s Sewing Room include: women’s, men’s and children’s alterations; wedding and prom dress alterations; curtains and cushions made; all at reasonable prices.
Eva said: “I am really excited to be celebrating my fifth anniversary at Eva’s Sewing Room and would love to invite customers old and new, and everyone else in our community, to call in and join me this Saturday!
“I will have cupcakes, and it will be lovely to see everyone.
“Five years is a fantastic milestone to reach for any small business.
“When I opened five years ago, very nervous about how things might turn out, I would be very proud to know Eva’s Sewing Room would have grown to have become so successful and to be celebrating five years in business.
“I would like to say a huge thank you to all my customers, many of whom have become loyal customers and keep coming back time and time again.
“I’m also grateful to all the local businesses I work closely with including Lapel Menswear, Man to Man, The Vincent Hotel and others.
“I am looking forward to working with a new bridal shop which is opening soon.
“We tend to get very busy during prom season and wedding season particularly, but we’ve now become busy all year round.
“We offer lots of different services for customers.
“I make alterations for clothes, wedding dresses, wedding clothes, prom dresses, I make cushions, curtains, zips for clothes, all sorts of alterations. If there’s anything anyone needs please get in touch and see if I can help!
“I was always working for someone else before I opened this shop.
“I was doing alterations for people, gaining orders through Facebook, and slowly building up my customers.
“Then I decided to open up my Eva’s Sewing Room and to work for myself.
“It’s good for my customers that they can actually come and see me in my shop now as well as speaking to me online.
“I am not expensive for the services which I provide, I don’t charge a fortune like some other businesses, I think customers will be happy with what I am charging.
“I have professional machinery here with me, and my own fabrics.”
Eva has seen lots of changes in the Market Quarter since she opened.
She said: “Southport Market has been a big success since it opened five years ago.
“The Market Quarter work last year, and the pedestrianisation of Market Street, has brought some great new events near my shop, such as the Southport Artisan Markets, which are great.
“I am really grateful to everyone who has supported me over these past five years.”
