The Windmill Parbold sponsored post by Stand Up For Southport
The newly-revamped Windmill pub in Parbold is inviting people to treat themselves to Afternoon Tea this autumn.
The historic venue – which has been serving families since it opened in 1794 – is offering a very British tradition which has been specially created by Head Chef Callum King and his team.
Everything on the afternoon tea stand is freshly made or freshly baked, with bookings needed 24 hours in advance. It is served Monday to Saturday 12pm-5pm.
This magnificent 18th Century pub has enjoyed substantial investment this year with several positive changes to elevate the dining and drinking experience for visitors.
Families were welcome back on 27th February following months of renovations.
And then on 27th June, the official launch took place for the new 1794 Bar – Lounge.
The Windmill Head Chef Callum King said:
“These are exciting times at The Windmill! We’ve been making lots of changes this year, making big improvements to the venue, as well as to the quality of food that customers can expect.
“One of the things which sets The Windmill apart is our Afternoon Tea.
“It’s a Great British classic, and we use some of the best local ingredients to make ours what it is.
“No-one else locally offers anything like this, so our Afternoon Tea makes us unique. Not just in Parbold, but we also get lots of people travelling out from places like Southport, Liverpool and Ormskirk to enjoy it too!
“It’s a real treat, being able to sit back and enjoy something truly special.
“Our Afternoon Tea is £26 per person, which includes unlimited tea or coffee. Or you can upgrade and order Prosecco Afternoon Tea for £30 per person.
“We ask people to order 24 hours in advance because every item is freshly made on the day. Nothing is ordered in.
“Customers love our home-made Scones. We also offer Lemon Posset; Traditional Vanilla Slice; Mango and Passion Fruit Macaron; Raspberry Bakewell; and a Chocolate and Pistachio Delice.
“Keping with the British theme we include home-made Pork Pies plus Black Pudding Sausage Rolls with Piccalilli.
“The sandwiches include Smoked Salmon, Cucumber and Creme Fraiche; Ham with Smoked Applewood and Tomato Chutney; Traditional Egg & Cress.
“If you let us know, we can also offer Afternoon Tea options which are Gluten Free, Vegan or Vegetarian. We want to be inclusive and cater for everyone.
“There’s nothing better than treating yourself, or your family and friends, to a tasty Afternoon Tea in beautiful surroundings like we have at The Windmill.”
