This year we have seen the best of people rallying to support one another in the wake of unimaginable tragedy.
As our town continues to recover, there are so many people bringing their skills and experiences to the fore and networking for unity and success.
This autumn, there is a wonderful opportunity for Southport businesses to identify, invest in and develop promising team members.
The Emerging Leaders Southport programme will start in November 2024 and requires a commitment over six modules, culminating in a graduation in September 2025.
This is not a quick fix, but a concerted investment in clear thinking, coaching and communication skills. We all strive to be brave, authentic and resilient and this is a wonderful way to embed and hone these traits.
The Emerging Leaders Southport programme is being run by Clear Thinking. This partnership was set up over a decade ago by Bev Holden and Kate Miles-Roberts. They bonded over their core belief that clear thinking is the cornerstone.
This applies to day to day decisions and reactions, our interactions and our aspirations on a personal or a professional level.
Together they have inspired and educated countless individuals across the globe to consider with clarity and bring out their best.
Bev said: “I’m an encourager. I like to see that when people are held back by a thought or a feeling about something, that there is a way forward for them, and they can think for themselves and find a different way.”
Kate lives in Southport and is raising her family in the town as well as being a Trustee, regular director and performer at the Southport Dramatic Club. In all of her roles in life, she nurtures potential with a combination of enthusiasm, empathy and empowerment.
As a young graduate, fresh from Liverpool University, Kate had an inkling that she wanted a role in leadership and funded herself through a night school leadership programme. This was a transformational experience and ultimately helped her to land her first Leadership role as a Production Manager at Fredericks Dairies in Skelmersdale at the age of 22.
She has continued to be passionate about nurturing people’s potential and is eager to deliver a leadership programme in her home town, for the benefit of the town’s businesses and economic recovery.
To further reflect this commitment, delegates from businesses in the Southport Business Improvement District (BID) will be able to enrol at an enhanced rate.
All delegates will have access to ongoing support and mentorship as well as online space to continue the conversations and maximise the opportunities.
Spaces on the programme are limited so early application is encouraged.
