EFT Group is seeking your nominations for this year’s Sefton Courage Award.

This category looks to honour people for exceptional acts of bravery at the Grand Pride Of Sefton Awards, which take place at The Grand in Southport on Friday 24th April 2026.

The Sefton Courage Award is dedicated to recognising individuals who have demonstrated remarkable bravery, resilience, and strength in the face of adversity.

Whether overcoming personal challenges, showing incredible selflessness, or making a difference in the lives of others, the award will shine a light on those whose courage inspires the entire community.

Organisers are inviting your nominations from Southport, Bootle, Crosby, Formby, Maghull, Aintree, and across the borough.

Please submit via the website: prideofseftonawards.co.uk or email your nominations to: standupforsouthport@gmail.com

As a company with long-standing roots in Sefton, founded in 1974, EFT Group is committed to supporting and uplifting the local community.

Based on Cobden Road in Southport, it consists of EFT Systems, EFT Construction and EFT Electrical, a combination of businesses that provides a unique partnership to build, protect and maintain clients’ property, life safety and security assets.

EFT Group employs over 160 local people and won the 2025 Sefton Business In The Community Award.

Next year they are looking to relocate and expand into new purpose-built offices at Southport Business Park.

Winners of the Sefton Courage Award in 2025 were the incredible Leanne Lucas and Heidi Barlow.

The two friends were running a yoga and dance class for children in 2024 when the Southport tragedy tragically happened.

They fought to protect the girls with Leanne suffering severe knife injuries in the attack.

She has since gone on to lead the Let’s Be Blunt campaign to do all she can to tackle the scourge of knife crime.

Tearful guests at the Grand Pride Of Sefton Awards last year rose to give Leanne and Heidi a standing ovation to recognise their incredible courage.

Nominations are now open for this year’s awards.

Jordan Duggan, the Group Director of EFT Group, said:

“We are honoured to be able to sponsor the Sefton Courage category at the Grand Pride of Sefton Awards 2025.

“Last year was the first time that we have been to the awards. The inspiration of the people in that room was so moving and heart-warming.

“There are so many great categories and so many people doing extraordinary things in our community right across Sefton.

“This is an opportunity to thank people and recognise them for all they do.

“The finalists whose stories we heard in that room were all winners.

“EFT Group was honoured to win the Sefton Business In The Community Award last year. We never expected to win, and really enjoyed being there.

“This is the awards ceremony of the year in our borough because they celebrate all the wonderful things being done to improve where we live in the most selfless of ways.

“We look forward to seeing people’s nominations in the Courage Award category.”

The Grand Pride of Sefton Awards 2025 promises to be an unforgettable evening, bringing together local heroes, community leaders, and organisations to celebrate Sefton’s finest.

The Grand Pride Of Sefton Awards, organised by Mikhail Hotel and Leisure Group and Stand Up For Southport and supported by In Demand Radio, is an unmissable fixture in the Liverpool City Region events calendar.

The ceremony will be presented by In Demand Radio presenter Claire Simmo.

All those on the shortlist will be invited to a special celebratory meal in the beautiful surroundings of The Princess Grace Suite at The Grand in Southport while the awards are presented, with a stunning night of entertainment planned.

Nominations are still being invited across all 13 categories ahead of the closing date on 1st March 2026.
