Everton FC Women’s team had a surprise addition to their football training at Finch Farm this week when some of the star female skaters from Disney On Ice presents Discover the Magic dropped in for a visit.
Professional skaters including Sarah Dalton who portrays the role of Moana and Rachael Dobson who performs the role of Ariel were thrilled to join some of the team including Everton Women stars Aggie Beever-Jones, Rikke Sevecke, Courtney Brosnan and Aurora Galli.
The skaters, who are in town for their show at M&S Bank Arena Liverpool, which runs this week from Thursday 16th to Sunday 19th March, took some time out from their own schedule to take part in a Strength and Conditioning Session with Everton First Team physical performance coach Chloe Edwards. They also demonstrated some of their dazzling skating skills including jumps practice off the ice, with the Everton players even learning about the opening act choreography.
The meeting took place in advance of Everton’s hotly anticipated Barclays Women’s Super League match against Liverpool which takes place at Goodison Park on Friday 24 March.
The session finished off with the players demonstrating their sensational ball skills and the skaters taking some penalty shots at the Everton players.

Commenting on the session, Disney On Ice skater Jasmin Bezugly said: “We had so much fun meeting some of the Everton women’s team today. They are all so inspiring and dedicated to their profession and it was amazing to join them for a conditioning session, which is not too different to the sessions that the Disney On Ice skaters take part in prior to a show. I think however that I will leave the ball skills to them – they were amazing!”
Commenting on the visit, Everton Women’s goalkeeper Courtney Brosnan said: “It’s been really fun to have Disney On Ice come in and for us to try something different. We had lots of fun and we really enjoyed it.
It’s been inspiring to see female, elite athletes in a different field and the skills they’ve showed us today were incredible. They put so much effort in and we are really excited to see the show and see everything they’ve worked so hard for.”
