David Morgan is back at Southport Football Club

David Morgan is back at Southport Football Club, as he takes up a new player coach role.

A Southport FC spokesperson said: “We can finally confirm that David Morgan has made the return to Southport.

“‘Morgs’ has featured in some of our pre-season games and we are all delighted to be able to announce tonight that he’s back at the Club.

“David will be taking on a player coach role at the club and will also be working alongside Jack Bainbridge, George Newell and Simon Beswick in a coaching role with our Academy.”

Southport FC Manager Liam Watson said:

“As well as the first team benefiting from his vast experience we are also delighted that he will be able to work alongside our budding footballers in the Academy.

“Make no mistake this is a quality signing for Southport in a number of ways. David will bring so much experience to the squad, we know what he is about and he is able to continue with his coaching which is good for him.

“I’m sure everyone will give him a great welcome back on Saturday.”

David, first time around, made 105 starts in league games plus 3 subs and scored 19 league goals (as he is often reminded) making his debut in September 2017.

He also had 23 cup starts with 5 subs and scored another 3 goals in his first spell at Haig Avenue.
