A search has been launched to discover Southport’s best fish or seafood recipe!

The appeal has been made by local fisherman and fish shop owner Kevin Peet, with a £20 voucher for the winner.

Kevin is the owner of the Peet’s Plaice shop in Churchtown in Southport, and has been a fisherman for over 40 years.

He often fishes off the coast of Southport and catches local shrimps, which he cooks and turns into potted shrimps. He also lands white fish including plaice and sole locally. And he has recently bought his own smoker, which he uses to produce freshly smoked cod, haddock, salmon and other fish.

He knows that freshly caught fish and seafood and quality ingredients are essential for any great recipe.

Now he is inviting people to share your best fish and seafood recipes with him.

Kevin said: “We always love seeing the dishes and the recipes that customers send us of the meals they have cooked using the ingredients from Peets Plaice.

“Now we’d love to see more people taking part by sharing your favourite pictures and recipes of fish and seafood dishes – with one person winning a £20 Peets Plaice voucher.”
