The new Coffee King in Southport town centre has announced a new initiative to recognise and support members of the Armed Forces community, marking this year’s Armed Forces Day weekend with a dedicated in-store offer.
The initiative follows the company’s recent signing of the Armed Forces Covenant, reinforcing its commitment to ensuring that those who serve or have served, along with their families, are treated with fairness and respect.
This year’s Armed Forces Day is this Saturday (27th June 2026) while the annual Southport Armed Forces Day event is this Sunday (28th June 2026).
Southport Armed Forces Day will see a service take place outside The Atkinson at 10.30am before a military parade from Chapel Street, then along London Street and Nevill Street, past the Coffee King outlet, and towards Southport Pier, ahead of a family Armed Forces event at Kings Gardens and at The Atkinson.

Thus Saturday and Sunday (27th & 28th June 2026) customers who are in uniform or who present a valid Armed Forces ID at Coffee King, at 365 Lord Street, Southport (near the junction with Nevill Street) will be offered a complimentary barista-made drink, along with a 10% discount on any additional items purchased.
The gesture is intended to acknowledge the contribution and dedication of service personnel and veterans in a practical and accessible way.
In addition to the offer, Coffee King has confirmed plans to introduce an ongoing discount for the Armed Forces community.
From this Sunday 28 June, a 10% discount will be available across all Coffee King stores to eligible customers who present valid identification. This move is designed to provide continued recognition beyond the annual Armed Forces Day event.
Somanth Saha, Managing Director of Coffee King said:
“This initiative represents our commitment to turning our pledge under the Armed Forces Covenant into meaningful action. By offering both a dedicated day of recognition and an ongoing benefit, we aim to provide a consistently welcoming and supportive environment for members of the Armed Forces community.”
The announcement underlines Coffee King’s intention to embed its support into everyday operations, offering a consistent and visible demonstration of appreciation.
This family-owned independent business is proud to expand to Southport town centre with their newest venture which opened on Thursday, 30th April 2026 – just in time for the Big Top Festival arriving during May Bank Holiday Weekend.
Coffee King CEO Sean Le Tissier and Mayor of Sefton Cllr June Burns cut the red ribbon and carried out the official opening, welcoming the very first customers.
The new Coffee King is housed within a beautifully restored former bank, which was previously home to Monsoon, Patisserie Valerie and 92 Degrees.
