A four-year-old boy has been hailed a hero after using his battery-powered Gator and a litter picker to clean up his village!

Phillip, Banks, near Southport, decided to go out and clean up after local litter louts after becoming unhappy at seeing the mess they have left behind.

His heart-warming actions will now hopefully shame people into taking better care of their area.

Lancashire Police officers were so impressed that they paid a special visit to his home yesterday.

PS Steve said: “Phillip may only be four years old but he certainly has a very mature head on such young shoulders.

“During lockdown Phillip was going out for his daily exercise and he started to ask questions about the quantity of rubbish he was seeing in his local area. It was then that ‘fly-tipping and ‘littering’ was explained to young Phillip.

“Well Phillip wanted to do something so he asked if he could go and clean it up.

“Under his family’s supervision he took his battery operated Gator and his litter picker and set about cleaning up his village.

“What an absolute hero he is and Phillip continues to do this even now. He had even been out yesterday before I went to visit him.

“I think you’ll all agree that Phillip is an absolute star and a credit to the village.

“It was great to meet you Phillip and your family, you are a little hero.

“I am sure you’re going to grow to be a fine young man!

“Take care and stay safe.”
