Families can enjoy the fantastic flavours of Brazil when the KC Party In The Park takes place in Southport this weekend.

Bonita Brazilian Barbecue is inspired by the bold and vibrant flavours of north east Brazil, fused with British street food.

The aim has always been to offer something a bit different, proper BBQ, big flavour, quality ingredients, and food that people don’t usually come across at events.

This free-spirited, family-oriented outdoor festival will transform the park into a lively celebration packed with live tribute performances, artisan stalls, street food, children’s entertainment, and more. Doors open at 11am.

Bonita Brazilian Barbecue is co-owned by Chef Sam Atkinson and Brazilian artist Paulo Fraval who is the creative director.

Sam said: “Together, we bring a mix of culinary experience and Brazilian culture, which is reflected not just in the food, but in the overall look, feel and energy of the brand.

“Paulo Fraval is a Brazilian artist with a really diverse creative background. He’s a musician and actor, and also runs his own creative agency, bringing a strong visual and cultural identity to everything he’s involved in.

“His influence plays a big part in shaping the personality of Bonita, from the branding and design to the overall atmosphere we create at events.

“I started out as a chef, completing my apprenticeship at Bluebird Chelsea, and then went on to work in a range of professional kitchens. But Bonita really came from a difficult period in my life.

“I was involved in the Bow crane collapse, which was a very dark time for me and had a lasting impact. I had to rebuild a lot, both mentally and in terms of my direction in life.

“Starting Bonita gave me something positive to focus on. It became more than just a business. It was a way to channel my energy, rebuild confidence, and prove to myself that I could come back stronger.

“It’s my first business, and I’ve built it from the ground up, which makes it incredibly meaningful to me.

“Since launching, the business has grown organically through social media and events.

“We put a strong focus on consistency, presentation, and making sure every customer has a great experience.

“That’s helped us build a loyal following, with lots of repeat customers and strong word of mouth support.

“We’re based in Flint, North Wales, but travel all over the UK for festivals, markets, weddings and private events.

“The reaction at events has been amazing. The combination of Brazilian flavours with more familiar street food really stands out. One of the best parts is seeing people come back for more or bring their friends over to try it.

“We’re genuinely excited to be part of events like the KC Artisan Spring Show in Southport.

“It’s such a brilliant town with a strong sense of community, and you can really feel how much people support local businesses and independent traders.

“That kind of atmosphere makes a huge difference to businesses like ours and is a big part of what makes events here so special.

“We’re also incredibly grateful to Stand Up For Southport for the amazing support they give in promoting independent businesses and bringing attention to events like this. The work they do for the local community doesn’t go unnoticed, and it really helps create opportunities for small businesses to grow and connect with new people.”
