A restaurant and bar in Southport has temporarily closed after learning that a member of staff has been in contact with someone who has tested positive with Covid-19.
Rumah Bar & Kitchen, on Weld Road in Birkdale Village, is now asking customers who visited them on Tuesday and Wednesday this week to get tested for coronavirus immediately.
They said: “We were made aware last night that a member of staff has been in contact with a person who has tested positive with Covid-19.
“We have now taken immediate measures to ensure the safety of our staff and our customers by closing our doors to the public. All members of staff have now been tested and are awaiting their results.
“We are taking this matter seriously and are carrying out the procedures we have in place in case of such an event.
“As a precautionary measure we would like to ask customers who visited Rumah on Tuesday 25th and Wednesday 26th to get tested immediately.
“As the bank holiday weekend begins we would obviously like to invite you all to join us but in these unprecedented times, everybody’s safety is of paramount importance to us and until our results arrive and are negative, we will have your safety first in mind.
“Stay safe and we will see you soon for Rumah’s 1st Birthday Celebrations.”
