A dog friendly cafe in Southport is inviting people to join its first birthday celebrations this weekend!
Barklays, at 136 Cambridge Road in Churchtown, next to Churchtown Lights, is staging its One Year Birthday Party this Saturday (25th March 2023).
Barklays cafe is owned by local business woman and dog lover Lesley Morgan-Macbain, who also owns the House of Mojos ladies’ hairdressers next door and the Mojos Barbers nearby.
She said: “Don’t forget! This Saturday kicking off at 1pm we will be hosting our one year Birthday Party!
“The day will be packed full of fun for you and your pups
“The talented Matt will be back serenading you with all the best songs.
“We will be joined by Beffums Artworks who will be on hand to do caricatures of your dogs, she will also be working alongside us every Sunday after this weekend so why not pop down and check her out?

“All proceeds for the day that you donate – we are asking if possible for a minimum of £15 – will go to the Little Legs Dogs charity to help them purchase the much needed kennels, crates and pens that are essential for the little legs team and their dogs.
“We are looking forward to seeing you all on Saturday.

Putting the ‘friendly’ firmly into the idea behind a dog friendly cafe, Barklays offers cosy spots for seating both inside and outside.
It is handily placed for the beautiful Botanic Gardens park nearby, a perfect spot for dog walking – as well as being handily placed for people doing the school runs at nearby places including Churchtown Primary, St Patrick’s, Stanley High, Larkfield Primary and Presfield High.
Inside the same building as Barklays is Northam Bears dog groomers, which gives a fresh new look to dogs of all sizes.
It means that owners can sit back and enjoy a delicious cappuccino, latte or hot chocolate along with a range of hot or cold food, with a range of specials prepared daily, while their animals are busy being pampered next door.
There are special treats for dogs too, including freshly baked woofins, brownies, cookies along with Barklays’ famous pupachinos.
Customers can enjoy lots of great events, with Barklays able to be hired out for special events including birthday parties.
Recent events have included a King Charles, Spaniel and Corgi Day, and a Trick Or Treat Halloween Pawty.
